Bobby Bodford (Director/Playwright) Bobby has been directing in the area since 1992. He directed Grease, Wizard of Oz, Annie Get Your Gun, Peter Pan, and The Christmas Carol for LYT. His other productions including, The Producers, 13 the Musical, Young Frankenstein for CTG; Seussical the Musical, Guys and Dolls, Sound of Music for High Point Community Theatre; Fiddler on the Roof, The Odd Couple, and Jekyll and Hyde for WS Little Theatre; Legally Blond, 9 to 5 and Cinderella for the Andy Griffith Playhouse; Harvey and Smoke on the Mountain for KLT and many others. He has written several original youth comedies, including The Best Western Melodrama Ever, Mystery @ Sunset, and adaptations of Robin Hood, Treasure Island, and A Children’s Christmas Carol. He currently operates a production company called Adventures in Theatre with his wife Nicole, which conducts Summer Theatre Camps at the Sunset Theatre in Asheboro and Castle McCulloch in Jamestown.
Wes Richardson is the current Minister of Music at First Baptist Church of Lexington and director of bands at Central Davidson Middle School in Lexington, NC. He graduated with a B.M. in music education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is currently serving as the North Carolina Honors Band 9-10 Clinic Chair. Richardson has held several positions as the brass tech across the Davidson, Guilford, and Randolph Counties, as well as participated in the U.S. Army’s All American Marching Band in 2009. He has served as the UNCG Pep Band’s student conductor and librarian, as well as the Music Director and President of UNCG’s Iota Epsilon chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Richardson has also performed with the UNCG Wind Ensemble for several years, playing at the American Band Master’s Association and the Collegiate Band Director’s National Conference in 2013. He has also conducted several musicals in the past five years with the Davidson County Summer Youth Theater Program in Lexington, NC. Richardson’s bands have garnered three superior ratings in both Grade III and Grade IV since his tenure as director of bands at Central Davidson.
Monica Walser grew up studying Ballet and Tap under Suzy Sheets at Sheets Dance Academy. She also cheered for West Davidson High School, where she competed and won several first-place awards at the District and State levels. She continued her dance studies in Charlotte at CPCC. Monica then came back to Lexington and retook classes, and started teaching at SDA while working full-time.
Monica now choreographs for Lexington Youth Theatre and teaches Ballet at CMDM, and has had the privilege of being a guest choreographer, speaker, and judge for other dance events. Her passion is teaching dance to students and watching them grow in their technique and shine on stage.
Monica has been married for 22 years and homeschools her eight-year-old son. In her spare time, she reads, quilts, and dances in her ‘dance room.’
